This is one of Noah's and my favourite restaurants to meet up for lunch and although their buffet price of $9.60 (includes tax) is a little bit on the higher end for a lunch but it is a decent deal when you think of all the options they offer for both vegetarians and omnivores. (Disclaimer: most Indian buffets are great deals to me because I can eat Indian food three meals everyday!)
I wish I could have taken some nicer photos but I was on a tight lunch hour and wanted to dive into the food without having to explain why I was walking around with my iPhone, taking photographs of their food. (Okay I wussed out.)
I did manage to steal the shot below though. So as a summary . . .
The four trays you see on the left and the two soup pots are their Soup and Salad options. They usually have a light lettuce/tomato/onion type salad, raita and chutney. Today's options for soup were Sweet Corn Chicken Soup(lots of pepper, but no chicken chunks - still satisfying) and Hot and Sour Chicken Soup (which I did not try).
The next four stations are vegetarian options and today they had Kadhi Pakora, Aloo Gobi, Mushroom Mutter (has green peas), and an eggplant side-dish. The last three stations were meat options with Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken (so tender and yummy!), and Goat Curry.
Then of course on another side table, they had the Naan, some cut up melons, Rice Kheer, and a bread pudding (Meetha Tookra) that was too sweet for my liking.
Not too shabby for an Indian buffet at all! I also like that they have a large space so you are almost always guaranteed a table and some level of table conversation privacy.
While I was online looking up the exact address for Bayleaf, I noticed some negative reviews of Bayleaf online and just could not place the negative reviews with Bayleaf, even on its worst day. Just goes to show you can't believe everything you read and also reiterates why you should go and try this place out yourself. :o)
If you twist my arm, I might just take one for mankind and go with you. TOTALLY as a favor to you.
