Here's my crafty contribution to the blog hop,

I love those little crochet flower embellishments that have been popping up in scrapbook lines and wondered if I could make one myself.  So I learnt how to crochet a flower watching YouTube videos (What would a crafter do without YouTube?) and ended up with a few flowers made.  One of which I took and made into a flower clip by layering a crocheted flower, felt flowers, paper flowers, a vintage button, and more twine!  I used an old clip and since this is for my young daughters, I wrapped ribbon around it so it would be gentler sliding it on and off their hair.  It turned out alright for a first attempt. :o)

  
  
Now I am thinking of all sorts of things I could crochet with baker's twine!  Oh no . . . .  ;o)

To kick off our absolutely informal group Owl & Elephant, the good people at Etsy has approved us for a small grant to host a team meeting/craft night at Igloo Letterpress on September 20th starting at 6 PM. We will share knowledge and mingle over a hands on letterpress project - either a set of thank you cards or personalized tags for your products. Wine and finger snacks will be provided. Dress ready to get ink on you!

It’s amazing to see the many book apps that are constantly added to the Apple iTunes store. I’m always downloading awesome books to add to our growing library!

We own the books in hardcopy but the magazines are great! Both for Naia (6-1/2 year old active reader) and Gianna (3-year-old who loves being read to).

Confession: We ask Naia to read to her sister "for good practice" but you and I know it buys daddy and mommy an extra 10 minutes of time!
