All my friends know me as the guy who loves decorating - which isn't the manliest hobby, I admit.
But I don't really care, because there's nothing I love more on a Saturday afternoon then going to the local kitchen showroom and mentally planning my perfect kitchen (I'm not joking).
Simple! Firstly, the kitchen is the heart of the home - so I always want to be proud of the way mine looks.
Secondly, I spend a lot of time cooking. It's my passion and my main hobby, so I don't mind spending 2-3 hours in the evening cooking up a special dish. There's nothing that sucks the fun out of cooking quite like a kitchen that doesn't work WITH you, which is why I think the layout and structure of a kitchen is just as important (if not more so) than its aesthetics.
Thirdly, I can't get enough of kitchen gadgets - especially when they are built into the kitchen itself.
So that's why I've decided to create this blog, because I want to have somewhere to show my favourite designs. And to kick things off, here are a few of my favourites...
Why: This is a simple design, which is one of the reasons I like it. I also think a large island is almost essential if you have a big kitchen, as it's a great focal point and perfect for preparing food.
Why: If you're not lucky enough to have a large kitchen, this is a good example of how you can store utensils, cups and appliances while maximising space.
Why: The tiles on this kitchen are really interesting - I haven't seen many like them before. I'm usually not a fan of dark cupboard doors, but in this case I'll make an exception!
