In addition to writing about my multi-tasking ways, I also enjoy reviewing and hosting giveaways for products and services that are relevant to a modern family like ours. Extra points if they make a working momma’s life better. Triple extra points if they are original concepts and handmade items. Quadruple extra points if they're preeeetty. :o)
Mod Fam Find of the Week is a bi-weekly series that runs every other Thursday, during which I feature/review and potentially host a giveaway for a "find" that I feel is relevant to a modern family or a modern mom who enjoys good design. For PR reps or sellers who might be interested in featuring their products/services on this weekly series, you can find more details below on how to submit but for others, please feel free to spread the word if you think someone in your social circle would be interested!
PROCESS
I also only review and recommend items I can experience and test in-person – it does not have to be a full-size product if it can be helped but I don’t believe in pushing products when I have not even tested it out. As such, each review-giveaway collaboration does require the following commitment,
- Sending an email with your review-giveaway details before mailing in the review product or samples.
- After approval, sending in the products to

at least 2 weeks before the agreed-upon giveaway date. - Understanding that I reserve the right to add the sample as an additional prize where it makes sense (for instance, personalized or used samples would not apply).
- During the giveaway period, helping to co-promote on our respective social media channels.
- At the end of the giveaway, fulfilling the prize, including shipping to US, Canadian, and International locations. (It should be $0 out of pocket for the winner.)
The standard ways for my readers to earn entries to the giveaway includes,
- Asking them to visit your storefront and return to the blog post to leave a link to their favorite item, or to seek the answer to a question. (Very effective for bringing traffic to store and having them browse)
- Asking them to twitter and blog about the giveaway. For each promotion, they are to return to the blog post and submit a comment to log their entry. For twitter, I can ask them to include a desired twitter name or hashtag in their tweet as well. (Increases your twitter followers, increases exposure as they promote the giveaway to their networks.) Note: Facebook does not allow the “Liking” of a company as a requirement to earn an entry into a contest so we do not include Facebook as a source but we can certainly include your facebook link in the blog post.
- Granting additional entries if they purchase any item from your store. (Great for sales.)
At the end of the giveaway when the winner is announced, including a promo code for those who did not win as an incentive for them to make a purchase. (This is optional.)
